Thursday, October 4
i looked to my right, out the bus window and couldn't help but notice a group of nicely-dressed, over-accessorised girls walking down the stone steps. i dismissed them as quickly as i'd noticed them, but as i was doing so, for a split second my attention shifted to one of the girls, who appeared to be slightly overweight as compared to her friends. at the back of my mind a thought was beginning to take form: she would look so much nicer if she was less heavy.

i was ashamed at how i, even i, who do not watch tv, mtvs, or movies (most of the time, anyway) have been brainwashed by the messages this world subtly bombards me with everyday. a few years ago, the absence of body fat started becoming a fashion accessory in itself. these days, it would seem like the presence of any body fat is an abomination. why do we buy into these lies?

Thank You, God,
for friends who love me no matter what the weighing scale tells me. =)
